Biography of Jean-Pierre BRONOWICKI

Jean-Pierre Bronowicki is a Professor of Hepatogastroenterology and Head of the Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology at the University Hospital of Nancy, France. Dr Bronowicki earned his MD at the University Hospital of Nancy, and subsequently completed his postgraduate training in hepatogastroenterology there. His fellowship in virology was conducted at the unité INSERM 370, directed by Prof. Christian Bréchot at the Necker University in Paris. He earned his PhD in virology.

 

Dr Bronowicki’s research interests are devoted to the study of viral hepatitis and liver diseases. He has participated in more than 100 clinical studies (HCV, HBV and hepatocellular carcinoma). He was the co-lead investigator of the SPRINT-2 trial. He is the author of more than 150 papers in the field of hepatology and has published his work in high-ranking journals, including several papers in the New England Journal of Medicine, Hepatology and Gastroenterology. He sits on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Hepatology and Digestive and Liver Disease. From 2007 to 2010, he served as General Secretary of the French Association for the Study of Liver (AFEF).
