Biography of Raymond CHUNG

Dr. Raymond Chung is Director of Hepatology and the Liver Center, Vice Chief of Gastroenterology and the Kevin and Polly Maroni Research Scholar at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has been an internationally recognized leader in HCV research in the areas of virology and pathogenesis, including hepatocarcinogenesis. He directs the NIH Cooperative Center for Human Immunology and is co-PI of the Harvard HBV Consortium of the NIH HBV Research Network. He is PI of the MGH GI Division’s T32 Training Grant and holds several NIH R01 grants. He has been an Associate Editor of Hepatology, Gastroenterology, and the Journal of Infectious Diseases, and is currently President of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. He has recently served as co-Chair of the AASLD/IDSA HCV Guidance panel charged with issuing treatment recommendations for hepatitis C. He served as Co-Chair of the 24th International Symposium on HCV in 2017. He has authored more than 300 original articles, reviews, and editorials.
