Biography of René GEROLAMI

Rene Gerolami is the head of the hepatology unit in la Timone Hospital in Marseilles. He participated in the description of HEV-related chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma in immunocompromized patients. He demonstrated that many HEV infection cases were related to the consumption of undercooked pig liver sausages in southeast France. He is also implicated in clinical trials in the management for hepatocelllar carcinoma.
