Professor of Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine, Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, Athens University Medical School.

Founder of the National Retrovirus Reference Center, Athens, Greece.

Founder and Co-Chair of “Hepatitis B & C Public Policy Association”, Luxembourg.

Participation in many Executive Committees of private and public sector and the Presidency of the Hellenic Center for Disease Control & Prevention.

His research interests cover epidemiology, virology, preventive medicine and Public Health of infectious diseases, especially HIV/AIDS, hepatitis and other oncogenic viruses. More than 280 international scientific publications cited more than 10.500 times.
